As members of the student wellbeing committee, our role is crucial in ensuring the well-being of all students and staff. We strongly encourage students to reach out to us with issues of concern/for assistance whenever they need it.
Our dedicated team which consists of two members, one male and one female from each year group in the school, invests significant effort in maintaining the Amber Flag status which was awarded to us in the year 2021. We are also actively involved in the organisation of impactful events such as Anti-Bullying Week, Multicultural Week, and Smile Week. In planning these events, we actively seek the valuable input and perspectives of our students, aiming to create a more authentic and meaningful experience for everyone involved and contributing significantly through the student voice initiatives in the school. We meet regularly with the staff well-being team to plan for and organise these events.
We as students felt that a significant initiative this year was our Anti-bullying awareness campaign which saw a facility for reporting bullying using an online form being introduced. This provides student with added confidentiality and makes it more likely to report instants of bullying in our school.
Next year the team will be involved in a wellbeing review mandated by the DES and this will ensure that voice of students is heard in planning wellbeing initiatives going forward.
