There was a very special moment at tonight’s event when Ms Gallagher presented the inaugural Alanna Lenehan Art Award. This award will be presented annually to the student who excels at Art in St Joseph’s. This year the deserving recipient was Saoirse Ryan, a student who is extremely talented artistically and who is also known for her lovely unassuming attitude to her abilities. Ms Gallagher spoke about Alanna and the type of person she was. She talked about her love of art and how she was so proud of her brother Santiago who is also a very talented artist. Alanna will never be forgotten in St Joseph’s but not only that, today ensured that she will be introduced to our students in the future and her name will be spoken about annually for many years to come.
