Ladies football had a mixed year at U14, U16 and Senior Level. Our Senior girls competed in the Leinster A competition but lost out to eventual All Ireland Finalists Moate C.S and Mercy Ballymahon in their group. The team was coached by Ms Roche and Ms Geoghegan. Thank you to the 6th Years girls for their dedication to ladies’ football in our school over their six years.
Our 16’s had a fantastic season defeating St Mary’s Edenderry and Mercy College Ballymahon in their group before overcoming a tough New Ross from Wexford in the semi-final. Backed by strong support they narrowly lost out to Holy Faith SS Clontarf in the Leinster Final. The girls and coaches Ms Kelly and Ms Deegan put in a super effort and look forward to next year.
Our U14’s girls, coached by Ms McNicholas and Ms O’Sullivan were a mix of 1st and 2nd years and they won outright the LGFA Leinster Blitz. They defeated a host of schools along the way and showed the future is bright. Combining this talented group with our U16’s gives us high hopes for silverware in the future.
